XP tray problem - PLEASE HELP!

i use win Xp pro and every time my screen saver turns on and when i move my mouse and see the desktop again i can t open my tray(i don t know if that s the name for that thing that opens when i put my mouse on the botom of the monitor where the time and shortcuts are.)
This is a big problem to me because i have to manualy shut down the computer every time and i would apriciate any help

Stop using "my screen saver" and see if the problem vanishes.

Just set the display to power off or BLANK screen.
