Single files, such as documents, pictures, and videos should be easily accessible.. On the other hand, PROGRAMS are not installable from such a USB drive. In addition, makes sure that you "Take Ownership" of such files to make them fully accessible.
One other note: If the problem is simply a difficulty accessing USB drives, remember that reinstalling ALL drivers for the old XP operating system is needed.. Things such as motherboard/chipset drivers, USB drivers, and audio video drivers may need to be installed for all things to work as before.. Visiting the manufacturer's website should allow you to download and install such drivers.
Hope this helps.
My computer is pretty old and didn't run well on Win 7. I downgraded back to XP Pro and it seems to run much faster. But my problem is that before I loaded XP I ran Easy Transfer in Win 7 and put files on a WesternDigital Remote USB Drive. After I installed XP I can't retriev the files on the remote drive. I an trying to use Transfer Wizard in Win XP. Is what I'm trying to do even possible ?? If so can anybody give direction on how.
