xp task manager

when I clic ctrl alt delete I get a pop up that says administrator has disabled, turned off the task manager. I have gone in to Administrator but can find no where to turn it back on. this is xp pro on a dell inspiron 6000 with 1 gb ram and a 2.0 prosesor. Can anyone help.

You say you have "gone into Administrator". What does that mean?

If you are using a Limited User Account it is probable that accessing the Task Manager is prohibited. Do you have an Admin capable user account? if so, what happens if log in with that account and then right click the Task Bar and select Task Manager?

If you do not have an Admin capable account, ask the computer's Administrator about this.

follow this link and if the message box saying "Task Manager has been disabled by your Administrator" is what you are seeing then the cure for your problem is to download and use the ZIP file as the instructions state:
