Try Using Up/Down Arrows to Select .....

"last known good config" & hit enter. Should solve problem unless you changed some hardware or some hardware has just died on you.

Possibly some malware has got in but try above first. G' Luck! Happy

Why have you posted the same message again?

In reply to: xp start up

Your new post is the same as the first one you posted in this discussion.

Why?

Did you try the suggestions tobeach gave you? If so, what happened?

Looks like its dead then

Let's get this straight.

When you are in that Safe Mode list of options, you use the arrow keys on the keyboard to highlight any of them, (because the mouse is ineffective on this screen), then press Enter.

Then, with each of the options, nothing happens and you are returned to the same list.

Is that what you are saying?

If so, then there is little you can do. you can try a "Repair install" from the Windows XP CD installation disk you have, guidance here;
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Or you can delete the partition and re-install XP from the same disk, guidance here;

Good luck.
