XP SP2 and WMP9

i just found out that the SP2 install "upgrades" WMP to ver9...

that's the version with all the "shall i go and check if you are allowed to listen to the music on your commputer?" and "do you have a licence to watch this DVD?"....

it also hogs ALL music files and video clips...

if this is a known issue and already been thrashed out,here or in Multimedia, feel free to delete this post...

I think this is true. Here's why. Some of the security items apply to exploits of WMP 9. The "patch" would have to patch WMP 9 to be complete.

SP2 will install WMP9 even if you it had before (under SP1 with all the patches). So, I'd say it's a SP2 feature Wink
