How can I get to the XP recovery console?

Not much info but it's on the installation CD or sometimes on a hidden partition of the drive if built by an OEM.

Another possibility is to have a dual boot Windows XP - Recovery Console. For details, read:

Note

The article it's a little bit outdated. If you already have Service Pack2 installed, you need to use either the CD supplied with Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 2 included since October 2004) or you should use a Serviece Pack 2 splistreamed CD using a previous windows XP version and the Service Pack 2 file (either from CD or full download from MS site).
