XP PROFESSIONAL WITH CLIPPER (DOS)

by COLE_NC_2002 / March 12, 2008 5:06 AM PDT

I am running on a NOVELL 4.11 network, XP Professional(SP2), and shelling out to DOS to run Clipper programs. About once a day, while I am in DOS, my computer automatically restarts. There is no common time or command when it happens, but happens when I type in a command and hit "enter". It does not happen while sitting idle in the DOS window but only on occasion when I am typing. I would appreciate any help out there.

PS: I know I am a dinosaur for using Clipper, but it works so much better with the large data files I use.

I used to write Clipper apps.

That issue was never traced back to the clipper app. It always came back to hardware or drivers. Hope this helps and be sure to look in the Event Viewer for more clues.

Thanks Bob. I will look at the Event file next time it happens.
