edit the Boot.ini file can solve the problem.
I recently received a copy of the Windows Xp Professional Upgrade verison for my Windows ME computer. After installing it, and messing around with it, I found out that many of my programs and drivers would have to be re-installed or upgraded. It was at this point that I decided to uninstall it and revert back to ME, which worked fine, and all of my programs work fine now back in ME, but when I turn on my computer, it goes to a screen (after the bios) where it gives two options: "Install Windows XP Professional" and "Cancel Installation". Whever I do cancel the installation, I can get into ME, but then when I shut down my comptuer and turn it back on, this dialog comes back. I do NOT have the Windows XP disc in my cd-rom drive, and re-installing ME didnt work, as it claimed that I had an incompatible file system and that I would have format my drive, something that I DONT want to do. Can someone help me? Is there any way to just bi-pass that selection menu by re-configuring startup files?
