General discussion

Xp or Vista on a Dell 270, P-4 2.8, 1GB, & Nvida video card

This Desktop came with xp pro installed (when new). Got it at state surplus and had no Operating sys on it. Had a copy of Vista home prem. It runs ok
but seems slow. I have tweeked Vista to cut down on unnecessary processes - but still seems like it should run faster, open things faster, ect.. for having pretty decent hardware. Might it do better with XP ?? I know xp wont suck up as much system resources?
Thoughts...???

I'd move to Windows 7.

I find many are stunned by how hard it is to install Windows XP. They didn't expect they would have to find all those drivers. Windows 7 is fine at 1GB ram. We tried the beta and RC on 512MB.

Your choice here.

I am slowly changing the entire office off XP and to 7.

Why would the old RC key be any use here? Anyway we look at this, we get to buy Windows?
