Then you have to install the hard way with drivers on diskette. Try this on google.
"How to install XP onto a SATA HDD using the F6 key."
Howdy all,
I have a Gateway T-6859 that came with Vista. Trying to install XP but the install won't recognize the HDD. At one point I did a reinstall of Vista and this wasn't an issue. I recall that when doing this on an old Dell I had to change the ATA driver to ATA in BIOS, but I cannot find a similar command in the Gateway Bios. It is a Phoenix BIOS System but it seems really rudimentary. Any experience, thoughts or suggestions?
