XP Mode or dual boot????

Jun 16, 2010 4:46AM PDT

I only have Windows7 Home Premium. Do I have to upgrade to 7Pro to install XP Mode? (or) Can I add XP to my W7 machine as a dual boot system.

System:
Gateway DX4831
64 bit OS Home Premium
Intel i5 CPU
8 GB RAM

Here's why. Your machine has over 8GB. What Microsoft has yet to issue is a XP CD that installs onto such modern machines. You would battle all the issues you've read about PLUS that 8GB issue.

Plus you get to pay more for XP than a step up to 7 Pro. I use XP MODE for one little thing (some USB Microscope) so beyond that it's nice to have.
