xp login trouble

i am having trouble logging into my computer. i get the login in screen and, click on my account <admin> and get loading settings, saving settings. then it just sits in the login screen please. help. i have important docs. i need to gain access to. thanks

Do you know the name of the virus or trojan you removed?

Some don't read the document before replying and say they can't do this. Please skip down to the most important step 5.
