xp log in for network?

Nov 26, 2003 4:58AM PST

I am running xp, Before I was able to log on our network (4 computers). Now I can not, I can get to the internet and my email but I can not access the other computers and they can not access my computer.
Also before when I would turn on my computer, I would get the welcome screen and it would show my name and I would log on. Now when I turn on the computer it "by passes" the welcome screen and my desk top appears. Could this be the problem? I tried to change logging on in the users windows in control panel..but nothing has changed

On the Network issue:

Check that all your PCs belong ot the same Workgroup name.
Do you see all PCs on the Newtwork?
Make sure files sharing is enabled.
Make sure the XP built-in firewall is disabled.

On the alogon screen:

In User Accounts click on Change the way users log on or off.

Then check both options:
* Use the Welcome screen
* Use Fast User Switching

David
I have check that all your PCs belong ot the same Workgroup name.

The other PCs can see one another but they can not see the XP machine and the XP can not see anyone.

The file sharing is enabled.

The firewall is disabled.

I have made the adjustment to the "Change the way users log on or off" and I still do not get the Welcome/Log in screen.

I have tried EVERYTHING, any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
