XP Home Vs Pro

Dec 17, 2003 8:09PM PST

Are there "any" advantages for a single computer user to use the Pro edition of XP over the home edition?

No network of other computers.

Thanks,

G.F.K.

XP Pro just lets you access certain features more directly than Home. If you wander around MS's website long enough, they have a feature comparison chart between Pro and Home, so you can make the determination yourself.

Not really.
You won't need to join a domain and have no need for remote desktop.

Home Edition can network just as well.

I'd save the money and use it for other devices like a printer or more RAM or HDD.

when it comes to features most people would use they both are the same

but when it comes to certain inside features like server software-Home is limited

I reccomend Home because it is cheaper. Pro is better for students and professionals.
