XP help log says driver incompatible

by jefferss / October 6, 2004 11:34 PM PDT

Assistance please, I am trying to update my Zonealarm but every time I run the install the system restarts without installing. The log report sent to MS says there is a driver problem, but I cannot find which driver is causing the problem.
System is ;-
Gigabyte GA K8N, GeForce FX5200, AMD Athlon 64 2800+, 512Mb RAM, Western digital WD800JB HDD & NEC 2500 DVD r/w running XP with SP2 installed.
Have checked every driver on system and all have MS signature.
I am being driven mad by this and would appreciate any help offered.

Thanks for the tips, but no joy. Message is telling me it's a video/graphics driver at fault as it is not MS Corp. signed, but have been through every driver on my system and all are MS Corp. signed.
Am nearly at my whits end with this, as I believe I really need the ZA update.

Just a few questions.

1. I don't see if you uninstalled it before install.

2. What does Zonelabs have to say to you about it?
It is their product and not a known issue with XP.

In reply to: Just a few questions.

Reluctant to uninstall in case I can't re-install, and find ZA a really good firewall.
Been through the ZA tech help, but as I'm not using the Pro version, am not able to ask for direct help.
My fault for being a cheapskate !.

That was noted in the Virus forum.

That is... you often must uninstall before install.

Best of luck finding it.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
