xp help!!!

i've been asked to sort a laptop out for a school(noo cash blah blah)
its a toshiba a80, trouble is that no one knows the password or username? is there a way round it or am i gonna have to start from scratch?

It depends where this password and user name is required.

If it is the XP login and user name, then there are ways around it. Google is your friend. If it is in the BIOS before XP loads, there that is harder. Check the manufacturer's site for that model.
