Hi everyone, i can normally fix or overcome xp 'nightmares' myself but this one has really got me! Please help as I have important recording session for a movie soundtrack tomorrow and rely on all my equipment!
I formatted and reinstalled a new copy of XP Pro a few days ago on my Samsung R560 laptop(Centrino dual core 2.66GHz, 4GB Ram). Spent all weekend and today re-installing apps-software and optimizing XP (using w/ professional recording studio).
Everything was going excellent and nearly ready until i decided to partition my internal laptop HD w/ Partition Magic. I recently bought and installed the current HD and has been working no probs till today. It is a Seagate Momentus SATA 7200 rpm for faster handling.
Partition Magic froze half way thru the 1st 'job' which was re-allocating C drive size. I had to switch off.
Since it's all gone very wrong! If i choose to boot in safe mode(s) it reads of a stream of .sys files, freezes and then blue screen (a problem has been detected... error message).
If i boot w/ normal windows start-up option it freezes during xp load screen and also jumps to blue screen.
Even worse, if i boot to XP Cd, before it even reaches the repair or install screen, it says that 'The file i2omp.sys is corrupt. Press any key to continue' and then restarts.
I cannot use the ASR function as this requires floppy(s) as far as i have seen.
Worst case scenario, i could format and restart all again but a can't even achieve that at the mo. The HD doesn't have a 'reset' jumper either.
I apologize for the long message but i felt it necessary to include all the above.
I would really appreciate any support/advice as i need an up and running OS with all my progs by tom morning. My neck is on it! I also have a macbook but that is also playing up for other reasons so other option 'not an option'...
Thanks in advance,
Tony.
