Assuming it's a desktop, old desktops didn't come with wireless (most new don't either). So you should buy some wireless hardware and install the XP drivers it comes with (if necessary).
If you're talking about a wired connection, that should work if there is no hardware issue and you install the right driver.

I just bought this old doorstop and wanted to get it on the internet for someone... but, I can't seem to get the thing connected to my AT&T wireless gateway.
I've tried everything I know to do including downloading drivers (but not sure if it was done correctly).
If anyone has time to help me through this, I'd be very very grateful.
