XP Firewall Settings

by denjones / February 13, 2006 7:07 AM PST

I ended up with the Spysheriff malware. AVG caught and deleted a file. I deleted the entry from the c:\program directory, eleminated all entries for Sheriff in the registry (manually), ran Spybot and Ad-aware, and turned off system restore, ran AVG and then turned system restore back on.

Everything seems to be working fine now but I noticed that the MS Firewall is turned off. When I try to turn the MS Firewall back on, I get the following message:

Due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings.

I'm running XP Pro, P4, 768MB Ram, Two harddrives (13.5/50MB), 1.7GHZ.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
