of Windows Firewall. You need to check if File and Print Sharing is allowed. If so click on Add Port and Change the Scope to allow your Network or Customize the List of allowed PCs.
Have problems with computers on a workgroup running XP Pro and receiving this message:
"Workgroup is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
The list of servers for this workgroup is not available"
When I click "view workgroup computers" I receive this message and not get around it. I can see find the computes via the search, but it will not list in the browse windows.
I am getting a simular problem on an XP Home P2P network in which this error occurs when the main system is powered up, but no other system is able to connect until after the main system is rebooted after the other are online and may need to be done several times.
I have turned off sharing and on again, tried changing the workgroup name and then back on again. This started to happen once SP2 was installed so I turned off the firewall or confirmed the IP address range.
