XP cannot start services after upgrade

by mikespaceace / September 24, 2007 7:42 AM PDT

Hi all
A strange problem, I have upgraded my PC to Q6600 Quad core, Gigabyte p35-ds3 M/B, Gigabyte 8800gts 320mg Video card, 2gb DDR2 800 ram. then I reinstalled XP with SP2. At this point i have a clean install with no drivers installed. XP cannot load the default Luna theme, it says that the service is off, so i restart the service hit apply and ok and it then loads. it makes no difference wheather i install all the drivers or not but when i restart XP starts in classic theme and other services are also stopped. for example the internet service, if i start it, then after a reboot it stops again. i have set both the internet and themes services to auto but it makes no difference.
please help, its driving me crazy.
thanks

Seems proper to me. Why not finish this install?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
