XP Can't Read Website Hit Counter

Feb 9, 2004 10:15AM PST

Hello,
I recently upgraded my Pentium IV from Win 98 to Win XP Pro. Everything is coming along great...except for a counter on one of the websites I maintain. The counter is a CGI script, and when I visit the website, the counter shows "888888"; however, from other computers, I can still see the actual count on the hit counter. I've checked with a Win 98 computer and a Win 2K computer, and they show the counter with the actual count. Anybody have any ideas what's going on with XP? Thanks in advance for any help.

The web designer would use the VIEW SOURCE to see what HTML had been sent. The forum can't do this for you since no URL was supplied.

I got the number 631 on a XP Pro machine with Mozilla 1.4 as well as IE 6.

I do not have any pop-up stopper installed or such that may break this
