I've had similar problems, and although it may not cure your problem it may be a possible source. Check to make sure your CPU fan is operating properly. If it isn't it will overheat and give you bootup errors. I commited a geek crime (no offense meant) but, I actually buttoned up my computer case. It seems everytime I do (once or twice a year) something goes wrong. Anyhow I have to thump my CPU fan to get it started and it works fine until I shut down and reboot.
Good luck
just installed xp when I first boot my computer it hangs for about a minute then tells me there is no harddrive connected when I reboot it hangs for about a minute then xp starts up.
Why is my computer doing this?
