I'm making a big assumption you have your backups and recovery media all on hand.
Hi. I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I'm having a strange problem with an Asus laptop. Basically I can't get it to boot, repair, re-install.......I can't even get an F8 menu for safe mode. Strangely enough, I can boot with every linux live disc I try. I can then mount and access all my drives, files etc....I've even tried writing a new mbr with rescatux.... but still no dice. When I try a fresh install of XP I get past "setup is loading files" to "setup is starting" and then it just hangs.....so any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Also when I do try to boot it normally I get to a windows PE so I imagine it must be trying to access a recovery partition, but then....nothing. So.....any suggestions?
