XP Boot Floppies

I created somewhere along the line a set of boot flopppies for XP(6).I've never had to use them,my question is are they generic and will boot any machine or only the machine on which they were created?.Thanks

Not generic.

I've found them to be unuseful. And at one time there was a few versions for XP Home, Pro, Sp1, etc.

The XP CD is bootable so that's what I use.

I loaned them to a friend and of course they did'nt work. I wanted to eliminate the floppies and move on to some other reason why his machine would'nt boot.
