The cause is well known, the fixes are too. But the make, model of laptop and hard drive are details I can't find.
Let's hope it's not the old well discussed SATA BIOS setting issue.
I have a laptop running on XP Home that crashed giving me the blue screen of death. I removed the hard drive and saved all the data I needed and replaced the drive. I started the computer up with the XP OEM disk, It goes through that routine and when it gets to install XP operating system I get another blue screen of death saying that there is no hard drive attached to the system.
What would cause this and why can't I reinstall Windows? And yes the hard drive is installed properly.
