more info

ive looked on a few sites and some say that it not only comes with a 65nm processor, HDMI port and 120GB HDD, but that it also comes with a built in HD DVD player and built in wireless removing the need for the wireless network adapter. One site even said that it is going to cost the exactly same amount as the origional xbxo 360! Im not saying any of this is true, but i hope it is!!!

The existing 360 will still work as good as the day you bought it.

I work for a game store and YES there is a new system coming soon. It will be arrivng in store in about 3 to 6 months. cost will be around $479.00 to $599.00 and it will have the 120 gig hard drive and the HDMI port with the HD DVD drive internal.

LOL

I love how people are so sure that the Xbox 360 v2.0 is "definitely" on its way. Microsoft needs to verify these rumors, yes they are rumors because no credible source has proven the development of such a 360 console. Until MS officially announces a new version of the 360 I will not believe these rumors.

Now with that being said it is much more expected for MS to release a 120 GB HDD as an accessory.

Yes but really

It might as well have been announced because it's pretty much a guarantee at this point. I'm not sure about the color change, the included 120gb HDD, the built in wireless, or the built-in HD-DVD drive but MS hasn't denied that those pictures and videos of 360's with HDMI ports are fake (albeit they haven't confirmed they're real either but the fact they haven't denied it says something) and I'm pretty sure they confirmed sometime last year that they would be releasing a 360 with a smaller, quieter, cooler running CPU.

I don't see the big deal...

The 120 gig HD will be nice, but I don't see why everyone gets so excited about HDMI. Digital isn't automatically better then analog, despite what some people seem to think. My Xbox 360 through component looks better than my HD satellite feed through HDMI, so I'll be perfectly happy with my system even if an 'upgraded' version comes out.

Agree, but...

I agree that HDMI isn't the messiah of cables but ideally it is better than component, even if you can't see the PQ difference. Technically a digital signal is better than an analog one AND HDMI gives you a plus in the convenience factor (once AV receivers support HDMI better).

For now though, component looks great with the 360. I won't be buying a whole new 360 just for HDMI and I still have a ways to go before I fill up my 20 GB HDD. I actually think the better selling point will be to release a black and green 360 version, with or without the HDMI/120 GB HDD upgrade.

Well...

Its called the 360 Elite and I think that its kinda a waist of money. I mean I dont think that a lot of people will go out and buy another xbox. It's just an update to try and sell more consoles and have it up to par with the playstation 3. I will admit it, I am a hardcore sony fanboy. lol but im sorry i try not to bash the 360 that much.
