You can upconvert DVDs with the Xbox 3650 Elite's HDMI connection using the HD-DVD add on. You can only do it using VGA or HDMI, not component.
Okay, can someone provide me with actual proof (a link or quote from a reputable source) that states whether or not the 360 HD-DVD player up-converts standard DVDs? Or does it simply play movies to the same below-average quality that the Xbox 360 does? I haven't been able to locate this information and none of the editors from this website have replied to my emails. So hopefully someone here can help me out.
I have the 360 elite which outputs in HDMI, obviously. If the HD-DVD player can up-convert that may be the incentive I need to go and pick one up. The fact that the price dropped, a tad, and that it comes with 5 free HD movies now is pretty enticing. I have a fairly large standard DVD library, and I'm not buying them all over again in HD format, so it'd be nice to watch them in up-converted form.
Thanks mates.
