WZC connects "Ad-hoc" instead of "Infrastructure"-Same SSID

Nov 6, 2004 9:37PM PST

Hi. I'm helping my friend here with his wireless network. He is using a Linksys WUSB11. We're both in the same wireless network area (college), and somehow, there's another computer in the area who sets up an Ad-hoc network, with the same SSID as the Wireless Access Point.

In the Wireless Settings there, it is set to connect to the Wireless Access Point. In the Advanced Settings there, I choose Access Point Only. Sometimes, it will connect to the Access Point, as what we want. But sometimes, it will connect to the Ad-hoc network, despite the settings there which says Access Point only.

What should I do? Besides finding that person and ask him change his Ad-hoc SSID?

Thanks!
