WYSIWYG Questions

Sep 25, 2007 1:42PM PDT

Can anyone suggest a good WYSIWYG web site program? I'm a hobbyist not a professional, so keep this mind.

I'm just starting out so please keep this in mind as well.

Is Frontpage or Dreamweaver overall "better"? Or is there a better, less expensive solution?

There's a ton of options & I don't know what to do.

Thanks in advance

I personally

started with FrontPage, and it was a good choice for me. You can work with templates, or you can use easy to use "plugins" right from the menu and at any time you can switch to HTML and view the source of your work... and even then just work from there. It provides a lot of opporunity. Some people prefer Dreamweaver which is pretty good as well with some similar features. I'd go with one of those two, unless you're not looking to re-invent the wheel... the you can just go with a blog or CMS style website.

Frontpage or Dreamweaver?

Do they have any differences that would make a difference?

I have a blog, so I need more then that for what I want to do.

Thank you for the helpful reply,it's much appreciated.

http://www.webpronews.com/topnews/2004/06/08/dreamweaver-vs-frontpage (advantages and disadvantages of both).

Basically if you're pretty advanced with html, dreamweaver would be a good choice. If you're just starting out, I'd recommend frontpage which won't hold you back either, but with frontpage it's much easier to understand what's going on. I had classes with dreamweaver and it is for more complex and since I was used to frontpage, I didn't want to learn a new program over... and so far, for three years, I could do everything I wanted with frontpage.
