You can use the upgrade version of Win7 with XP.
And if you're worried about game compatibility you will want to set up a dual boot, not use Win7's XP Mode. That would be suitable for business apps, but not games.
Sorry to spring more of these especially when people dont read the stickies. First question would of course deal with changing my wXp 32-bit to w7 64-bit. Now i realize you can't upgrade between these versions, but i havn't seen anyone clarify whether or not you have to buy the 'full version'. As i have an old windows product, i assume i can buy the upgrade, and then just do a clean install but i wanted to clarify this real quick...?
Also, i was all ready to go ahead and buy w7 home premium when i noticed the XP Virtual PC tacked on with the Pro. Now i dont do much on my computer other than game...and i play a lot of old games and heard of the terrible compatibility between Vista and older (and even not so old) games. Would you all then suggest that i should go ahead and get the Pro just in case, or should i be less paranoid and get home premium?
