WXP Home: Windows Explorer image viewer substitution

Feb 21, 2004 2:17AM PST

As you know, when you double click on an image (like a .jpg or .gif file) in Windows Explorer, the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer comes up showing the image.

Is there a way to tell Explorer to use a different Image Viewer instead? I'd like my Windows Explorer to use ACDSee32.exe to view images. I'd still like to use the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer for faxes, if I can. Can I do that??

Thanks,

Airpilot

Simple as right clicking on the file and choose to "open with". Select the program you want to use and put a check mark in "Always use this program".

Thank you Michael - it was indeed simple. I had set the preferences inside ACDSee32 to open .jpg, .bmp, etc., but I guess it's also necessary to tell Windows Explorer. Thanks.
