Resolved Question

*** is going on here???

Aug 16, 2018 9:41PM PDT

So i recently got a radeon 5970. After installing it and it's drivers it worked fine, but after a while my pc froze. It continued to do that for a while, but after a few hours it stopped doing it when i was gaming. But after exiting a game the pc froze again.

Specs:
c2q q6600
6gb ddr2 800mhz
radeon hd 5970 with lates drivers
note: dual psus with a molex to 6 pin splitter
asus p5w dh deluxe and latest bios
windows 10 64 bit

What's wrong here?
My options are:
go trough all the fecking drivers for the radeon hd 5970
just throwh the card out
diagnose windows problems because i haven't noticed freezes outside of windows
wait until i get a better psu.

Is this gpu used?

If so you might want to take the shroud off it and give it a good cleaning.

It's a 250w card add 100+w for your cpu and your looking for a 700w single rail psu.

While your inside the machine give the rest of the innards a good cleaning.

I gave it and my pc a good cleaning though. Also here's a status update. Flashed the card with a new bios. After that i have not seen freezes so far.
