Wrong software installation

Jun 20, 2007 8:55PM PDT

I tried to install Lock Folder at my Home PC (Windows Server 2003). The installation went fine and it prompted an alter saying that "Type a Password" and click "Set" in the next screen. In the same alert there were two buttons - Help, OK. When I cliked 'OK' it didnt take me to the next screen but that alert remained there.

I thought of reinstalling it, so I tried to uninstall using 'Add or Remove Programs' in "Control Panel". It gave me a message "Lock Folder had been uninstalled already. Please clear the remaining files & folders manually". I deleted the Program Files, removed the same in "Registry Editor". Again I installed but same problem exists. In the "Control panel", it is showing as many times I tried to install.

The same software I installed in my office PC and it went smooth. Why the problem arise? How to clean this mess? Can someone let teach me how to do it?

The uninstall process can only be carried out if Lock Folder XP is not running, so you must exit Lock Folder XP before you can begin the uninstall process. Use the Windows Add/Remove Programs tool on the Control Panel to perform a clean uninstall.

Is this program compatible with your version of Windows?

After you remove all of the Lock Folders from the control panel restart your computer

go to control panel and see if they're still there, if so start the computer in the safe mode to remove.

After sucess in removal, run CCleaner to clean up loose items.

CCleaner can be downloaded here

Restart your computer again

Now try a clean install

Hope this helps.
