when trying to do system scans or install certain programs i get errors, saying that drive D is write protected and need to remove..Ok if i need to remove this how do i remove the write protection from drive D???????????????????????

no, it is a secondary hard drive

It may be you no longer have permission to access it and may need to take ownership of the drive. Aside from that fill us in on the details of your operating system, whether this is an internal or external hard drive, and the exact error message.
