..... the pool is better, the suits are better, the kicks have improved, , etc.

Nowadays the choice of suits, caps, goggles, etc,. is up to the swimmers and coaches.

The fact remains that all competitors in every race face the same pool conditions.

Therein lies the great equalizer.

on a sports program here they said that the new suits can cut 0.8 seconds of every 100 metres and they are good for 5-6 times in the pool, after that you buy a new one....

and they cost a $1000 each!

they can do it in about 8 minutes.

But I don't know, or care, if those events were live.

Both were shown after 10:00 PM EDT. NBC's coverage went off at 11:00 PM EDT.

This morning I saw women's field hockey- USA tie Argentina on cable USA at 6:00 AM, and a very exciting men;s soccer- USA tie Netherlands at 7:00 AM on cable MSNBC.

IMO, both swimmers lived up to their "hype".
