Worst Birthday Ever

Apr 1, 2006 5:49AM PST

So here I stand in the Apple Store at the Grove expecting to see at least ONE stupid birthday balloon and... nothing! Apple is 30 and it doesn''t seem to care. I was actually going to yell "Happy Birthday Apple" in a store full of people but if they don't care, I don't care. Bah!

I type this from one of the new MacBooks. It is seriously cool. God I want one. must... resist...

I know how you feel

I would've thought that at the very least, they would've put a little something on their website saying, "Hey, we're 30. Awesome."
But no, they're ignoring it. You still should've yelled.

And MacBooks rock, except for the name.

At this point

I figure if they do anything to acknowledge it, they'll just celebrate sometime in the month of April or maybe just sometime this year. It's just odd.

Anybody remember the 20th Anniversary Mac? It was actually kind of cool for its time:

it's just, I was sure Steve's ego wouldn't allow this date to pass unheralded. Something's going on...

MacHugger Needs a Hug

Kevin, I think you need a hug, so here. *hug* Everything will be ok, just think, before too long they'll be another iPod or something for you to have your hands on.

Now, go dry those tears & sell more MacBook Pros!

Funny :) But what Apple really needs to do...

You know what Apple should really do for its 30th birthday?

I don't think I've ever heard Apple acknowledge all of its ''evangelists'' for three decades of putting up with crap from the ignorant masses who know little to nothing of Macs and make blanket statements that are rarely true. We've defended them. ''Converted'' people. Took them to task when the NeXT programmers ruined the interface. Kept them alive when everybody else predicted their doom. And I don't think we have ever been given a public ''Thank you'' from Apple because that would mean having to admit that they didn't do their job.

That's what they should really do for their 30th birthday: thank us for helping them to live long enough to see it.

Apple Store

Hopefully by the time the Apple store opens in Knoxville, TN. (Supposedly one is in the works) I will be able to afford a Mac. I *REALLY* want one.

I figured it out

When I was a teenager, Rock & Rollers were telling people never to trust anyone over 30. Apple is ashamed of their ancient age!

Just wait til they turn 40!
Apr 2, 2006 4:39AM PDT

The "Big 30" is often traumatic. Apple may just be laying low & waiting for it to be over.
If they DO release a 30th birthday product, my money's on iDockers. Happy
