Workgroup Network Issue

Hi Friends,

I've spent all day on this, and have no clue. If any of you have any idea, that would be awesome.

Yesterday we had a lightning storm around our studio, and we shut down all the computers that we could without going off the air. The power blinked a couple times, but nothing that our UPS's couldn't handle. Now the three computers that were left on cant find any of the other computers in the workgroup, and the computers in the workgroup can't find them. I thought maybe the network cards were bad or something, but I can ping the computers, and I can ping out using them. I can access the internet. I can actually control them remotely using the network. Its just the microsoft network utilities that seem to be gone. I've rebooted all machines, I've tried setting up new workgroups, I've gone through the troubleshooting wizard, I've searched forum after forum online. Nothing. Does anyone have any idea? I'm about to pull my hair out!

Thanks guys!

While I would have listed an article about winsock netsh reset I can't tell which to share.

For now tell me what NET VIEW in a command window shows.

Got it...I hadn't rebooted one of the switches we were using. For some strange reason that switch would allow internet access and pinging and such, but not microsoft networking. Once rebooted, it's working.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
