WORD TOOLBAR views everchanging

Jun 4, 2005 5:20PM PDT

Using Word XP, I find that I can not set a DEFAULT custom toolbar view. On some documents other toolbars automatically open such as review and web. I don't ever use these toolbars. Maybe something in the document initiates these toolbars. If so, what it would be I wouldn't know. Once opened, they don't close unless done manually. This is getting tedious. I don't want them to open in the first place. I want a default setting that only I modify, and do so knowingly. This used to be the case, but is no longer. Can anyone help? Thanks. AR.

That a document I send you for reveiw will flip the review toolbar/items on.

That is by design.

If you create a doc, then you control this.

WHAT IF...

Thanks. In my case they are documents I have created BUT include pasted portions from other sources, eg documents or web pages. Therefore, can I erase the portion containing the information about inserting a specific toolbar that I don't want? Like erasing the last paragraph insertion and replacing it with one I create to 'lose' the instruction I don't want? Thanks again. AR.

You can try View Field Codes to find it and delete it.

thanks, I don't quite know what I'm looking for yet to turn off the Contol Toolbox toolbar but I've found the VIEW FIELD CODES switch and will try to work it out.

I accidentally hit your profile site first and noticed your favourite web page which I went to. I didn't know it existed and it's impressive. I've been looking up other things for a while instead of trying to sort this one out but I just wanted to say thanks for sharing it. AR.
