Word spoils copied images

Nov 23, 2004 2:09AM PST

If you copy a graphic from Word, Word makes two copies - a good copy which it hides in a disk file and a spoiled copy which it puts on the Windows clipboard. It also places some HTML on the clipboard telling other Microsoft programs where to find the good copy. If you paste photographs from Word into other Microsoft programs, they use the HTML to find the good copy. If you paste into most non Microsoft programs, you get the spoiled copy. (Don't you just love Microsoft)
