word perfect x4

A file was save blank by mistake. The original file was never deleted. A tech guy found the files using a mirror program. This is what we have, but an entire book. Any way to convert it back ?

1. Save as blank. That's a command in WP: File>Save as blank?
2. The original file was not deleted. But maybe it was overwritten?
3. A mirror program?
4. A book?

Find a hex editor and see if looks like a typical WP file. If it does, rename it to a .wpx (or whatever the current version of WP uses) extension and see what it does.

But I'm afraid you'll have to go back to your most recent backup. That's one day of work lost?

Just a thought.

That looks like a different font was used.

If these files still open in WordPerfect, try highlighting a sample of the text and changing the font to something like Arial.

It is unlikely to work, but worth a try.
