if you open a new Word document, you start with an empty screen, you can't type anything, so if you save the document it's still empty. Same for a spreadsheet. Luckily File>Save and File>Close and alt-f4 still work.

Things to do:
1. Make a new user account (or activate the guest account) and try there.
2. Run word in socalled safe mode (winword -safe from the command prompt).
3. 1 and 2 together: safe mode in a new user account

Help! I am using Window XP and Microsoft Office 2007.
Don't know what happened but when I open a new or existing Word or Excel document I am LOCKED UP -- can't type, change any font settings...or anything!
What did I do??
