Word 2007 Font Colours

May 3, 2010 4:57AM PDT

Hi
I'm creating a documnet that must have the headings in a particular font/colour/size.

I'm OK with doing the font and size but am stumped with the clour - Dark Slate Blue.

I've found the colours in word but cannot one that is this style - It's just blue or blue.
Can someone point out where I'm going wrong please?
Thanks

Did you try the "More colors" option?

When you click on the down arrow on the "A" font colors icon, you see the following options;

Automatic colors
Theme colors
Standard colors, and at the bottom
More colors.

What happens if you select that More colors option?

Tried that

Hi
When I click on the more colors button I get the option for standard or custom colors, but I cannot identify dark slate blue (if I hover the curser over a colour it doesn't tell me what it is).

In that case

you will have to do a little more work to get this the way you want.

In that Custom Colors option you can access in Word 2007 you have the option to select colors by RGB or HSL.

RGB stands for Red, Green and Blue, and HSL stands for Hue, Saturation and Lightness. With either, you can 'mix' values to get the desired color, eg Dark Slate Blue.

The images in the link below may help you visualise this;
Microsoft Excel - Add colors

That link is a Microsoft Excel tutorial link, and whilst it refers to Excel 2007, the same should be true for Word 2007.

So, what you have to do now is find out what the RGB or HSL values are for Dark Slate Blue. Google is a good resource for that type of search.

I hope that helps.
