That's a pity.
- First thing to do: find another PC with Office 2003 and see if that also says the file is corrupted.
- Then download Open Office and see if that can read the file.
- Then go back your latest pre-2007 backup of those files and try again.
- Finally, try a trial copy of one of the shareware or commercial Word recovery softwares: http://www.google.com/search?q=word+recovery

I am working on journals for my kids that include pictures and different fonts. I started them on Word 2003 and have updated them as recently as a week and a half ago in Word 2007. The problem is when I tried to open them again just a week ago, I got the message that said the file was corrupt and had to be recovered. I tried to recover them and I still get the message.
I'm using Windows 7 as an OS.
I've unistalled and reinstalled Office to no avail. I've got 4 different normal.dot files. Two of them are normal.dotm and two are normal.dot but I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
These journals are the only files that are affected by this.
I am truly devastated by this and hope that someone can help me. I'm at a loss.
Thank you
