The one thing that can block this is the protected document. I make no claims of fixing this in any case but it seems to work in an unprotected document. I leave it to you to test with the protected document.

I am sure this can be done.
I am operating Word 2003 and my system is Windows XP professional.
I want to be able to put data into a form field and have that data appear in the header.
The document will be protected (so the "filling in forms" function is activated). In the document, on page 1, is a form field. I want to put an alphanumeric set in that form field and have that alphanumeric set also appear in the indicated location in the header. I am aware that a form field cannot be placed in a header.
The header begins on page 2 (and uses a section break to keep it off of page 1). The header is then repeated through the entire document. The header consists of a 4 row table, and the alphanumeric set is to appear on row 2.
I have an example document prepared, though I do not see any way of attaching it to this question. I will email the example document on request.
