Word 2003 opens and runs as a negative image

Nov 14, 2004 10:09PM PST

I have Office 2003 running on my XP home edition PC. When I open Word, the screen goes black, then the program opens and runs as a negative image. The problem only exists on my desktop, my son and daughter have no problem with their desktops on the same PC. I have un-installed and re-installed with no change. I have also made sure that we are all running the same desktop settings yet the problem persists.

Can anyone help??

It sounds as if you have your accessability settings set for high contrast. To check this and change these settings, go to your control panel and open the "Accessability Options" Applet. Click on the "Display" tab, and unselect the "Use High Contrast" check box if it is selected.

The box was already deselected. I tried to switch and select it but, it was blinding. Do you know if there is a similar setting within WORD itself??
