General discussion

word 2003 formatting problem

Feb 27, 2007 12:01PM PST

Hello,
When I type something in a blank (or any) document and press ENTER, the cursor jumps down several inches or sometimes right down to the very bottom of the page. Currently, I can only get about three sentences per page. I have tried resetting the settings to default and nothing happened.
After a few days, Word 2003 began loading Windows Installer when it started and then it could not find a file called SKU113.cab. I used system restore to go back to before this missing file, and now all I have is the original formatting problem.
Office Basic was pre-installed by Gateway, and I cannot find the original Office disk that came with it to reinstall.

If this doesn't fix it, a free Office replacement.

Try the usual fix of exiting Word, deleting the NORMAL.DOT files and try again. Also, triple check your printer unprintable area settings.

If Word fails and you can't find your CD, go get Open Office from http://www.openoffice.org and it will open your files just fine.
