Word 2003 and styles from HTML

Aug 22, 2005 1:21PM PDT

This is driving me nuts. I want to take an HTML document with a style reference (<p class="style1">, for example) and cut it into a .dot template and have style1 take on the format defined in the .dot. When I try to do this "all the styles convert to normal. When cut the same section into a document which does not have style1 defined, it keeps the style name (style1) but has none of the definition. Can anyone advise, please?
