Word 2002 watermark problems

May 8, 2007 9:17PM PDT

Hi ,
I place a watermark image via Format > Background>watermark. The watermark is in the size of 4A and png format.

Now in the Page Setup I lowering the top margin so beneath the logo but when I?m doing it also the watermark change its position. How can I set the margin of the page and have the watermark fix in place?

Thanks
S

I suspect it's because Word does not want to print the watermark outside the margins.

If you set the margins first, before you insert the watermark, and then increase the scale of the watermark, how does that work?

I think you will need to adjust the watermark image elsewhere, (eg an image editor), and play around with the size and the word.doc margins to get the effect you want.

Thanks.it helps but I still having problems. Back to the start , I design an a4 letterhead in InDesign which inclue solid logo and transparent watermark. I export it as pds , I resterize it with Photoshop , and than I make the watermark transparent. than I place it as a watermark in word.

So in other words , in word I place A4 image which include transparent and solid objects. In printing , all the image is washed-out while the washout check is off..

The image is in png format.

Any idea?

Thanks

Try it as a BMP. Also since you don't want it to wash our, why not just print it, then put that paper back in and print over it?

What? PNG is a format that...

Microsoft didn't accept until recently. By letting it be a bitmap you relax pressuring the code to perform.

As to the printing trick you need to know I've done that more than a few times over the years. One time (more than!) I find someone trying to recreate something I printed but they didn't know that I would slip the sheet back into the printer for the second pass. They lost a week on that one.
