Word 2002 has no margin on right side- Line keeps going

by ssly1 / March 27, 2008 12:23 AM PDT

My MS Word 2002 has no margin on the right side. When I type, the line just keeps going and I have to hit the enter key about where the margin should be in order to keep it from showing off the line the page. I checked the page
setup and it all looks fine.

Just checking.

I ran into this on a machine that didn't have a printer driver installed and no "default printer." Fix? Install any printer and make it the default.

"Not a bug" according to you know who.

Thanks. But I have two printers installed with one as the default. Do you think I should reinstall one of the the printers.

Right Margin - Lines keep going of document right side
by ssly1 / March 27, 2008 1:50 AM PDT

I tried to past in a screenshot of the margin problem, but it won't paste in. The ruler shows the margin mark (a little triangle)in the right place on the line on the top, but on the next few lines keep going out of sight and when I click on them the little margin triangle on the ruler disapears.
How does one put a screenshot in these messages?

Apparently something wrong with the style in the template. So I'd start with deleting (your default template). That's a file somewhere in your Documents and Settings (assuming you've got XP, not Vista). Some people have some problems to find it, but it surely is there.

You can't post pictures here. You copy them to some website and put a link to it in your message. But I don't think it's necessary anymore.

Kees covered it.

But in case it doesn't there is some issue of how "exact" the WYSIWIG is in Word. I sometimes get a few characters past the margin but print preview is ok.

-> Also, is this Word all patched up? That is, the SR version is?
